My daughter Sarah and I were extolling the virtues of electric blankets and how much we appreciated hopping into a warm bed on a cold night.
We also discussed the relevant dangers.
Later when Sarah went to off to bed I reminded her to turn off her blanket before going to sleep.
Laying in my own bed later that night, relishing the warmth and feeling myself drift off into sleep, I was shaken out of my bliss by a bright, glowing, orange light. The light somehow seemed familiar, but not quite placing it clearly, I tried to drift off once more, back to the land of nod.
The light appeared again and shone persistently. This time I recognized the glow and knew what the light was telling me.
Creeping quietly to Sarah’s room, I opened the door a crack and spotted the bright, orange light, glowing at the controls of her electric blanket.
A couple of clicks turned it off and when I snuggled back into sleep mode there was no orange light to hinder my sleep.
The moral of my story: It’s better to be safe than sorry …. listen to your messages and most importantly – heed them!
Yes! Better to be safe than sorry! This all sounds like the way I am.
